We depart from our agreed collection point on our luxury coach. We
travel North for a day exploring Belfast. We stop en-route for our mid
morning tea / coffee and scones at the Carrickdale Hotel in Dundalk.
The world’s largest Titanic-themed visitor attraction is a monument to
Belfast’s maritime heritage on the site of the former Harland & Wolff
shipyard. Visitors are drawn to Queen’s Island by the sight of the iconic
Samson and Goliath cranes. The exhibition consists of nine interactive
galleries. It is well worthwhile taking a walk along the slipway from which
the Titanic was launched in 1912 or visiting the restored SS Nomadic
which was tender to the Titanic.
En route to Titanic Belfast, you will have seen many landmarks including
the Divis Flats, the Falls Road, Crumlin Road Gaol and the Odyssey Arena.
Belfast City Hall, the Grand Opera House, and St. Malachy’s Church are
all centrally located, historically and architecturally interesting. Add in
a vibrant city centre, with two modern shopping centres, as well as an
abundance of restaurants and cafés and you will have the recipe for a
