The Irish National Stud belongs to the people of Ireland but prides itself on being enjoyed and appreciated by visitors from all over the world. Queen Elizabeth ll visited, in 2011, to see for herself where the winners of five Classics for her family were produced. The setting is very beautiful, with lovely walks between the paddocks. In the Museum you will see illustrations, memorabilia and artefacts linked to the history of the horse in Ireland.
The Japanese Gardens are a treat for the eye and a comfort for the soul. Birth, childhood, marriage, parenthood, old age, death and the afterlife are brought to mind as the gardens are explored. You will enjoy the sound of trickling streams, greenery and vivid colours. St. Fiachra’s Garden, which was created to celebrate the Millennium, commemorates St. Fiachra, the patron saint of gardeners. Rock and water and natural beauty will transport you to a time when Ireland was the ‘Island of Saints and Scholars’. Refreshments are available at this unique attraction.
After a great day out, you will depart for your evening meal. Here you will enjoy a 4 course meal before returning home.
Although entertainment is not included, it may be added for an additional cost.
This is the only stud farm in Ireland open to the public. Enjoy a visit to the stud’s new interactive centre, “The Irish Racehorse Experience” truly brings to life the worlds of retired equine racing stars like Hurricane Fly and Beef or Salmon.
